FBI Files on MLK Jr.'s Assassination Released
The Trump administration released over 230,000 pages of FBI and intelligence documents on Martin Luther King Jr.'s 1968 assassination, including investigation notes, memos, and CIA files on James Earl Ray’s international manhunt.
The files, sealed since 1977, had never been digitized. King’s children criticized the FBI’s efforts to discredit their father and questioned Ray’s sole responsibility, citing past conspiracy findings.
The King family and Southern Christian Leadership Conference opposed the release, citing invasive surveillance. Attorney General Pam Bondi and DNI Tulsi Gabbard endorsed transparency, while critics viewed the timing as politically motivated.
The documents are now publicly accessible for historical research.

A zero-day vulnerability in Microsoft’s on-premises SharePoint server has compromised over 100 organizations, mainly in the US and Germany, including government agencies.
Hackers exploited the flaw to install backdoors and steal cryptographic keys. More than 8,000 SharePoint servers remain exposed globally, affecting sectors like banking, healthcare, energy, and education. Microsoft released patches for SharePoint Server 2019 and Subscription Edition; the 2016 patch is pending.
Cloud-based SharePoint services are unaffected. The FBI, UK agencies, and Google link some attacks to a China-based group. Immediate patching, server isolation, and key rotation are urged. The attack began mid-July 2025 and remains active, highlighting ongoing risks in enterprise software security.
How much responsibility should software vendors like Microsoft bear for preventing zero-day exploits in widely used enterprise software?Click to see live results and comment! |

Stargate AI Ambitions Cut Back
The $500 billion Stargate Project by OpenAI and SoftBank aimed to build 5 gigawatts of AI data centers and create 100,000+ jobs by 2029 but stalled within six months due to disagreements and no data-center deals. The focus is now a smaller Ohio data center by end-2025. Meanwhile, OpenAI independently secured $30 billion-per-year deals with Oracle and CoreWeave, nearly matching Stargate’s planned capacity. SoftBank’s CEO remains optimistic despite past investment failures. Regulatory and operational challenges persist despite a national energy emergency declaration. OpenAI operates at multi-billion-dollar losses, relying on future revenue to cover data-center costs. The project’s scale and timeline have been drastically reduced.

AstraZeneca Commits $50 Billion to U.S. Expansion
AstraZeneca will invest $50 billion by 2030 to expand U.S. manufacturing and research, including a new Virginia plant for experimental weight-loss drugs like oral GLP-1s and PCSK9 inhibitors.
The plan covers facilities in Maryland, Massachusetts, California, Indiana, and Texas, aiming to create tens of thousands of jobs. The company targets $80 billion in annual revenue by 2030, with half from the U.S., which accounted for over 40% of its 2024 revenue.
This shift responds to potential U.S. pharmaceutical import tariffs of up to 200%. AstraZeneca’s U.S. focus contrasts with scrapping a UK vaccine plant investment and aligns with similar moves by other major pharma firms.

Dopamine Signals with Surgical Precision
New research shows dopamine signals with millisecond precision to nearby neurons, not via slow, broad diffusion as previously thought.
Using live mouse brain imaging, scientists found dopamine activates receptors in tiny local regions within the striatum, a key area for motor control and reward. This refined signaling contrasts with slower, widespread dopamine effects.
The striatum’s dopamine pathways are implicated in Parkinson’s, schizophrenia, addiction, and ADHD. Current treatments focus on restoring overall dopamine levels, but these findings suggest therapies should target precise dopamine patterns for better outcomes.

Omega-3: The Supplement That Cuts Aggression
A meta-analysis of 29 trials with 3,918 participants found omega-3 supplements reduce aggression by up to 28%. Effects appeared across ages, genders, and conditions, with doses as low as 250 mg daily showing benefits.
Omega-3’s EPA and DHA improve brain function by reducing inflammation and enhancing serotonin and dopamine signaling. Higher doses didn’t increase effectiveness, suggesting individual factors matter.
A six-month youth trial reported a 59% drop in disruptive behavior lasting post-treatment. Omega-3 also lowers fatal heart attacks, with 4 grams of EPA cutting risk by 25% in statin users. While not a replacement for therapy, omega-3 supplements offer a low-risk option to improve behavior and heart health.
