U.S. Raid on Hyundai’s Georgia EV Plant
U.S. federal agents raided Hyundai and LG Energy’s Georgia EV battery plant, detaining 475 workers, mostly South Korean nationals. The plant, still under construction, is Georgia’s largest economic project.
South Korea plans to repatriate 300 detained workers and is negotiating with the U.S. Foreign Minister Cho Hyun will visit the U.S. to discuss their release. President Trump said foreign experts should temporarily train U.S. workers legally and highlighted immigration law compliance.
Some detainees had illegal or expired visas. South Korea criticized the raid’s handling and will review visa policies for future investments.

China’s Export Growth Hits Six-Month Low
China’s export growth slowed to 4.4% in August 2025, the weakest in six months, led by a 33% drop in shipments to the US, now $47.3 billion. Imports from the US fell 16% to $13.4 billion.
Trade tensions and tariffs, including a 30% US tariff and Chinese retaliations, continue to weigh. China’s trade surplus narrowed to $102.3 billion. Exports to Southeast Asia rose 22.5%, partially offsetting US losses, but these markets don’t match US demand.
Rare earth exports fell 25.6% year-on-year. Analysts warn that tariffs above 35% could severely raise export costs. Policymakers may consider more stimulus, but local funds are limited and existing measures are tightly controlled.

7+ Revenue Streams from One Business
Most companies chase one or two ways to make money. Surf Lakes has at least seven.
At the heart of it all is their patented 360° wave tech that creates 2,000 surfable rides per hour for beginners and pros alike. That single breakthrough unlocks multiple revenue streams: licensing fees, royalties, memberships, day passes, media, coaching, food, retail, and direct park operations.
It’s why surfing legends Tom Curren and Mark “Occy” Occhilupo are investing in the company.
Actor Chris Hemsworth even said this after his Surf Lakes experience: “What an incredible setup! Really thankful I got to test this out…an awesome day.”
Surf tourism is a $65B global industry, yet fewer than 1% of people can access real waves. Surf Lakes makes it possible anywhere, turning cities into surf destinations.
They’ve already sold nine licenses worldwide, and the expansion is coming. Back Surf Lakes by 9/12 and get up to 15% bonus shares.

Russia Launches Largest Drone Attack
Russia launched 805 drones and 13 missiles across Ukraine, its largest attack since February 2022. Ukraine shot down 751 drones and 4 missiles, but nine missiles and nearly 60 drones hit targets, including Kyiv’s main government building, causing a fire and killing at least four, including an infant.
Cities hit include Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, Sumy, and Chernihiv. Ukrainian forces retaliated by striking the Druzhba oil pipeline in Russia’s Bryansk region. U.S. President Trump signaled readiness for a new sanctions phase.
European leaders condemned the attack and pledged support, while diplomacy remains strained and the conflict intensifies.

Fast Track for Nicotine Pouches
The FDA is piloting a fast-track program to speed nicotine pouch approvals, targeting completion by December 2025. Participants include Philip Morris, Altria, Reynolds American, and Turning Point Brands.
This contrasts with typical multi-year reviews, like the five years for Philip Morris’s Zyn. The program covers new products like Zyn Ultra and existing ones lacking FDA authorization. Nicotine pouches are a rapidly growing US tobacco segment, with Philip Morris leading and competitors expanding.
The FDA will focus on core safety and manufacturing data, offering more frequent communication and quicker decisions. The initiative follows lobbying and White House pressure to streamline tobacco product regulation.

Cold Plasma Destroys Cancer
Researchers demonstrated that cold plasma can penetrate several millimeters into tumor tissue to kill cancer cells. Using 3D tumor-like hydrogel models, they identified peroxynitrite—not hydrogen peroxide—as the key reactive molecule driving cancer cell death.
Tests with a medical plasma jet device ("kINPen") showed strong reduction of residual tumor cells in artificial surgical wounds, especially those spreading into nearby tissue. This suggests cold plasma could help prevent cancer relapse after surgery.
The findings offer a path to customize plasma treatments for different cancers, enhancing precision and effectiveness while minimizing harm.

Birth Control and the Brain
Hormonal birth control affects brain function related to emotions and memory. Women using contraceptives exhibit stronger emotional reactions than naturally cycling women.
In tests viewing emotional images, birth control users recalled fewer details of negative events when employing distancing or reinterpretation strategies, though overall memory was unaffected.
Both groups remembered positive images better with immersion strategies. These differences in emotion regulation and memory formation may influence mental health, including depression risk.
Researchers aim to explore impacts across menstrual phases and contraceptive types to guide women’s reproductive and mental health decisions.
