rtet...It's a shame that the rest of the world has to indulge the mistake of the American electorate. The Trump regime benefits the ultrawealthy, not the middle and working classes nor the poor. Other countries are forced to negotiate with a man who doesn't understand how tariffs work.

mdul...Although trade with the EU is important for economic stability, so is trade with the other leading US trade partners, China, Canada, and Mexico. Trump has clearly shown that unless he personally benefits economically, he doesn't care about such things as global stability and economic abundance for the world. His statement justifying his 50% tariff increase on the EU was just his way of saying that the EU had insufficiently assessed the reward he needs to receive to make a deal and they need to increase their offers.

mdul...Yes, of course the US should take stronger actions but there is no chance of that occurring. Recall that Trump is under Putin's control and Trump does nothing that will harm that relationship. Expect to hear harsh words from Trump and then complete inaction or, at best, some symbolic step that does not affect Putin in the least.

I don’t understand why neither the Biden administration or the Trump administrations have refrained from imposing ALL possible sanctions against Putin and Putin’s support system. I don’t want us to fund weapons for Ukraine or fight their war for them, but we need to use EVERY sanction available to crush Russia as much as possible. I hate the question, “Should the U.S. impose MORE sanctions against Russia?” because there shouldn’t be any “MORE” this many years into this war. We should have already started using every single sanction we could possibly use three years ago so that “more” is a moot adjective for the situation.

mdul...Once they know the rules, business leaders have a responsibility to their shareholders to act in such as way as to maximize returns. In the present case of doing business under the Trump administration, though, this is especially challenging since Trump changes the rules on a whim. I've served on many boards and I'm sure I would have been asking about the risk analysis before Nvidia proceeded down this path.
