How should the government address the online presence of violent or hateful content as it relates to preventing attacks?

  • 46% Increase monitoring and removal of harmful content proactively
  • 41% Balance both safety and freedom of expression equally
  • 14% Focus on protecting free speech and only intervene when threats are specific

EmailComments
jarc...The govt should track social media and message boards elsewhere to screen for school shooters
jkfi...This isn’t about online content and free speech. Gun violence is the number one killer of children, and the solution is deadly obvious.
atli...Focus on restricting automatic weapons, increase public service announcements to discourage their use, allow public health research on gun use, and permit lawsuits against manufacturers.
ebr....We shouldn't give up more of our rights bc once they're gone, we'll never get them back.
elsc...````
hbro...Why didn’t you mention the transgender part? Mental illness needs to be addresses before everything else to prevent these tragedies. At least you called it a him.
magc...It would be helpful if our current administration would cease its inflammatory and bigoted rhetoric
crai...The question seems to miss the real issue, how do we reduce school shootings. Let’s start by treating our schools like our airports and federal buildings. Gated facilities, locked doors, screened entry and armed security.
cger...Progressive Leftist Democrats love when the "street communist" take it to the street and promote chaos, anarchy and violence. It is through this fear that they can control the sheeple. It's straight out of the communist handbook..
mich...Probably the guns
liza...If someone says they will harm, neex to be red flagged. That is not free speech that is stated intent to harm
usct...Maybe Trump should send the National Guard to protect our schools and use the intelligence services that he destroyed to protect us.
lora...This is a failure of the Minnesota politicians. They put in red flag laws to prevent gun incidents from mentally ill people but do not enforce them. It is a fact all Transgender people are mentally ill and should be banned from having weapons. Trangenders who show any signs of violence should be locked up permanently.
jsko...Gun ownership reform/ legislation is necessary + should be mandatory on account of the hundreds of mass shootings and school shootings each year. But so are social services to help people with mental illness who are lost past the edges of society.
nanc...It used to be the platforms carried out surveillance and acted accordingly, including banning trump and his lying followers on X. But now they all want to cozy up with him and have stopped monitoring.
kvas...How do we end the horrific gun violence against schools and children that is so common in the U.S.? I really wish I knew, but it's part of American reality and has been for decades. While I can't offer a viable solution, I do know that allowing politicians and bureaucrats to decide which speech is "violent or hateful" is a very bad solution. I would have been more open to the idea before this administration, but now I see how petty and ruthless a dictator wanna be can use such power.
jmja...You can increase monitoring without censorship
trce...PREVENTIVE IS ALWAYS BETTER
csbr...Trump is unable to self censure, he is an antagonist and normalizes violent and hatful content online.
tomp...Police should also ivestigate people who post this content to see if they are mentally stable, or if they need help.
mary...And way more gun control!!!
fnpn...You can’t take away the first amendment. It’s a balancing act for sure.
laur...Gun control is essential
dsze...Keep eroding your constitutional rights, that's the ticket!
ceal...The gender confusion of young people also plays a part, driven by some in the education sector.

Nvidia’s shares dropped after its earnings announcement despite strong sales. Do you feel this market reaction is:

  • 52% A rational correction reflecting slower growth
  • 48% An overreaction by investors fearing hype risks

EmailComments
cger...It's way overpriced.
lora...normal correction, it will rebound.
nanc...They’ve had such a huge run up, it’s only logical some investors would take profits.

How effective do you believe tariffs are as a tool to address trade imbalances between countries?

  • 41% Not very effective
  • 31% Depends on context
  • 29% Very effective

EmailComments
atli...By dropping tariffs on all imports to 0% and negotiating with all trade partners to do the same the economy would boom.
ebr....It is bluster. No real consequence from what I see.
kvas...For every action there is a reaction. This is just reality. Traitor Don understands bullying, but I doubt that he has the mental facilities to foresee the consequences of these actions. He's a school ground bully playing chess with grand masters. What a disgrace.
cger...The Trump tariffs are working, in spite of the Progressive Leftist Propaganda to the contrary.
sopa...Tariffs are on the own people. It's the road to poverty.
milt...This is a very hard question. Depends on context and timeline. Short term, tariffs will appear to work because there has been insufficient time to react. However, over time, the tariffs will redirect trade away from the U.S and towards other more accommodating partners.
mdul...Tariffs will undoubtedly result in changed trading patterns, including a likely decrease in trade balances. The more pertinent question for American consumers, though, is whether this is a desired outcome. Since free trade is in large part an underlying reason why America has dominated the last 80 years of economic growth, it is more likely than not that diminished trade will be bad for Americans.
lora...This is a good thing for our country to ensure fair trade. It also benefits the US by not allowing countries like the EU and UK to be subsidized by American tax payers.
arth...It appears the tariffs are indeed working now. It also appears they have to be quickly adjusted through negotiations for fairness. Even Jerome Powell admits tariffs aren’t really effecting inflation so far. So, perhaps we should wait, and watch, without panicking!

How serious do you believe the threat of state-sponsored hacking campaigns like Salt Typhoon is to global security?

  • 89% Extremely serious, requires urgent action
  • 8% Serious but manageable with current measures
  • 3% Overstated or exaggerated

EmailComments
kvas...Traitor Don opened the flood gates when he benefited from Russian involvement in the 2016 election and then started kissing Putin's behind.
atli...If there were no secrets there would be no breaches. Cooperate rather than compete.
lora...This is another issue Trump is fixing as the Democrats allowed this to get out of control by doing nothing.
mark...These may be Chinese companies, but make no mistake - this is state-sponsored terrorism. China has already declared (by actions) war against the United States.
cger...The United States can NEVER let it's guard down when it comes to the Communist Chinese. They are NOT our friend. It's unfortunate that the Biden Crime family was so embedded with these scoundrels.

Given the finding that BMI can misrepresent heart health, how much trust do you place in BMI as a health measure?

  • 61% BMI is too limited and often misleading
  • 35% BMI is a useful general guideline
  • 4% Unsure

EmailComments
lora...BMI should be updated to include bone size and weight and muscle mass.
cger...Of course most of your readers are critical of BMI. LOSE SOME WEIGHT, FATTIES!!!!
