It may seem shocking for me to be heard saying the California government has done anything good (although it occurred under a vastly superior governor than the current one), but they have the right idea of having an independent commission to create the districts. But, the Dems have been "cheating" for decades to germander to their benefit (far more than Reps have), so their is not much more they can do, even in CA currently. |

All votes should be by popular vote only and that would eliminate lobbyists and the majority of the corruption in politics. Or, The people should vote on the list of their party’s representatives and then their party prioritized by the number of votes they get, then based on the popular vote the parties get to put their top representatives based on the percentage of the vote they got. Term limits should be set to no more than 3 terms for any representative in order to limit the corruption and influence of lobbyists. The representative’s job should be to educate their constituents on the subjects that the populous would vote on. All states should have to modify their rules on how they select their representatives to be by popular vote only and not by districting. |
