hine...Any controlled substance should have controls in place that cover "incomplete" advertising or establish a web site where they can only be placed on it and not TV or webplashes. The extreme would be to say "ask your doctor for heroin because it is so great for you" and then go on to say in the fast small print that "it could be habit forming so consult your physician to see if it is right for you". There should be more data collection to require posting of the stats of the side effects that they are declaring also. Looking from another view it could be that the stats might show that it is only a certain age group or people with other illnesses that drive the negative effects and some people that the drug could really help are not asking their doctor about it because of those negative effects, which ultimately cost the medical system and the individual more money.

jald...Don’t trust it since they have allowed ingredients to be put in foods that other European nations have banned because they are bad for humans and can cause significant health problems but yet the FDA turns an eye because I’m sure they are being paid off by big food manufacturers.
hine...without seeing the controls on the diet of the 43 men, i.e. was it the same calorie intake and were they all exercising or not and doing so in proportion to their needed caloric intake and life styles, then it could be the increase in weight was due to many other factors.
ende...I believe the socialist nations do a better job keeping their population healthy and limiting harmful processes (not that I want to be socialist) but it does create a common sense approach to keep people healthier Unfortunately the FDA allowing a round up type product to go into all our wheat products (slowly poisoning us all) in the name of faster processing's something these other nations didn't let happen, but we did, now our health system is burdened with all the health issues caused with the inflammation. cbut...The definition of UPFs is too arbitrary. I do believe on average that these foods are bad for us but I would rather see research per ingredient (e.g. sugar! sugar replacements! palm oil! preservatives! etc) because they serve quite different purposes and our bodies react to them differently. As a working parent of small children: Convenience is not the enemy. Cooking whole foods from scratch every meal is not realistic. I would love to see research that doesn't lump every time-saving food together into one category, but provides actionable realistic guidance.
