The only sure protection of truthfulness in the future is to declassify all government held documents and make all government meetings open to public view. cath...I'm a retired high school math teacher. Elementary school teachers lack appropriate skills to teach or even understand math concepts. Children are behind by the time they reach middle school. Many elementary teachers cannot do fractions, percentages etc so they can't teach them correctly either. I have witnessed this first hand and I had to reteach all these early skills at the high school level. I've been retired for 8 years. This has nothing to do with Covid although that didn't help.
tomd...I am on a campaign to drastically reduce my kids' screen time and limit/eliminate certain (mainly gaming) apps, as I can plainly see that isn't helping their academic nor social skills development.

Did you expect reading skills to increase? How do you learn math taught in English when you don't speak English? More importantly, these declining reading and math trends also reflect a long-term gradual decline across the U.S. population spanning declines in virtue, 2 parent households, food safety, religion, culture, common sense, judgment and wisdom resulting in an unprecedented mental health epidemic for millennials and Gen. atli...The real story here, if I am reading correctly between the lines, is that science is being done now by everyone in the world except the US.
tomr...I have had the problem most of my life. I found some relief through diet eliminating certain foods. I also take a daily medication which has been a blessing in keeping the painful discomfort under control.
