Anna's Daybreak News

Just facts, you think for yourself

How do you assess President Trump’s criticism of the parade as a “conspiracy against the United States”?

  • 50% It’s a valid warning about geopolitical threats
  • 40% Overstated rhetoric that inflames tensions
  • 10% Mixed

EmailComments
nath...I probably lean toward a valid warning about geopolitical threats but I also think it might be a little overstated given that it was a parade and he doesn't give as much credence to China's incursions on Taiwan and other places in East/Southeast Asia.
chri...If we had a good president, Modi and others would not have decided to go.
atli...The US spends three times as much on the military as does China. The US has 700 foreign military bases, China has one. The US has been constantly at war since WWII, China has fought no cross border war since then. The US's idea of diplomacy is to kill those with whom you disagree, China builds for them their infrastructure seldom asking anything in return. Who is the bully?
brad...America has the same kind of nonsense parades all the time. If we're allowed to do it then so is everyone else.
andr...Obviously China is a threat. However, I'm not sure I'd say it's a "conspiracy". Pretty obvious that China is the only threat to our hegemonic dominance.
bjef...It's a valid threat because our Moron in chief has basically eviscerated the US as a functioning nation and cut any intelligent heads out of the department of defense. So basically, yes: these governments are now banding together because, in his infinite genius, he's also managed to turn all our allies against us. The geopolitical threat has been manufactured from our country basically self destructing.
joyo...Trump started with his threats.
leyl...My understanding is that Trump was also invited, but chose not to attend this celebration of the end of WWII.
sopa...Joke.
blik...Odd that the Russian Communists under Stalin had to lose millions of their people fighting off the turncoat Hitler NAZI (also Communists), while the former more free Chinese were so abused by Japanese Fascists (communists at heart) and they celebrate the defeat of Japan together, in this way. Now, the 2025 Communists are parading around their threat to the Western Civilization Nations of the world. Kinda like the 1930's..... history repeating.
pken...It may be news to Trump, but if he would stop kissing Putin’s ass and look up he might have a better grip on the obvious power play that’s been taking place since the end of WWII.
mind...I did not want that response recorded.I meant to say it was an overstatement intended to inflame
tubi...dumb donald the petty-file probably isnt wrong about this one.
patr...Love the daily recap, but it feels like the questions always targeting readers political views. Not sure if it’s for data aggregation or a bigger purpose, but it’s off-putting.
jose...It is ironic that Trump is hurting our European allies while China is improving their alliance with countries that are run by dictators.
ned....He fabricates everything !
mdul...Trump's effort to Make China Great Again continue to succeed beyond even his imagination. By pulling USAID out of countries around the world, withdrawing from international organizations focused on making the world better, imposing tariffs on allies while leaving foes untouched, taking aggressive military steps in international waters, and more, Trump has sought to isolate the US and it is succeeding magnificently. China has a much longer term view and has quietly filled all the voids Trump has created.
arth...Of course it’s preening and saber rattling. It’s also a serious threat. Anyone who thinks China won’t light the fuse the minute it thinks it will be successful, are living with their head in the sand. If it is going to light the spark, it has to do so pretty soon. This massive build up is costing trillions with trillions to maintain it.
patc...Conspiracy? Hardly. Trump scuttled his own ship and created these openings. His childlike behavior and directionless trade policies are what makes China an attractive trade partner. He's always been his own worst enemy. Now he's ours.
csbr...Always appears that the joke is on Trump, who is weak, incompetent, and narcissistic. Those leaders play him like an infant, they know they can trigger him and he will go on an all caps crusade in his echo chamber posting passive aggressive threats and pandering. Doesn't China own a large amount of the US's debt?
kvas...Turning the hatred and bullying dial up to its maximum, as Orange Boy always does to his advantage with his Maggot followers, can only lead to greater world tension. That isn't a good direction.
jlcg...But the word conspiracy is not adequate. It's a very open threat, may be to be never exercised, but definitely intended to solidify negotiating positions and extract concessions.
boba...He may now have realized how badly Russia can become. Also how badly he was played in alaska
sing...China’s display of militarism is a direct result of Trump’s bullying, as Xi implied. Trump needs to strongly stand up to China’s statement that they will take Taiwan.
dmar...He was all friendly with Putin so I don't believe much and what Trump is doing and is slowly decaying America's power and our economy.
suzp...The US is so nationalistically focused that we fair to acknowledge that we are part of the world, and the other parts of the world will continue to be as committed to their growth and existence as we seem to be driven to control and be in charge of them.
cica...Trump is a fool. And his behavior his words his policies are what pushed several world leaders right into the arms of the Chinese. He’s not playing 3-D chess as so, many of his foolish sycophants claim. He’s just a bumbling idiot with a big mouth and no impulse control.
ebr....You know that Tiny-Hands uses everything around him to whine. That's all he's doing and whining on a global scale.
char...Not good for America

Do you think the US military strike against the Venezuelan drug boat was justified?

  • 62% Yes, it was a necessary measure against drug trafficking
  • 28% No, it was an excessive use of military force
  • 10% Unsure

EmailComments
ned....Trump being a bully !
lesa... Was the ship within what’s considered US waters? If so, then the strike was justified. If not, then the US had no business firing on it.
mdul...If Trump had ordered the strike once the supposed drug runners entered US waters, it would have been justified. By taking action in international waters, Trump allowed numerous other scenarios to be claimed.
tubi...not sure how i feel about the US broadcasting military action when no aggression has been taken. this should have been kept on the "down low". if this was in open waters, it could be considered an act of piracy/terrorism by others.
kvas...If it were a different administration, this would not be a concern, but Traitor Don has made every action suspicious.
rock...Trump needs to remember we must live in this world and he is not GOD!
cica...Was it actually a cartel boat full of drugs? We don’t know that. Was it staged? This administration has proven over and over again that nothing they do can be trusted.
bjef...There has been no indication of how this vessel was proved to be a drug cartel boat that I can find. Just because Trump says so has O weight because he doesn't know truth from fiction any more.
arth...It was over kill, but it was a warning that’s chilling to the cartels and drug runners. So many warships were a show. One cloaked ship with drones could have out there, with drones, done the same thing in obscurity.
ebr....At this rate, the buffoon could target any civilian watercraft and strike it for carrying drugs. He's a menace to the globe.
jmbe...Whatever happened to 'Thou shalt not kill'?
jlcg...What do they mean by "strike? Did they sink it.or seize it?
wake...I guess we know who are the 'heads' reading your newsletter
joyo...People are being found guilty without reliable evidence and no due process. All Hispanics are drug dealers and gang members?? It would be nice to know what evidence substantiates the actions taken.
ttim...Speaks for itself.
csbr...Maybe we should start striking/sniping the white collar US corporate dealers that enable the drug trafficking? They don't deserve any due process either.

Should large tech companies like Google be required to share key user data with competitors to promote market competition?

  • 62% No, it risks user privacy
  • 38% Yes, it encourages fair competition

EmailComments
bjef...They shouldn't be allowed to "share", or actually, "acquire" any user data at all. And don't worry, Google is just great about protecting what they have: just look at my inbox with all the crap they send my way for the proof that, in fact, they already give it (for a price, I'm sure) away.
atli...Nationalize them.
fcse...Let competition come up with their own search engines. Competition will create better technology.
tess...The ruling against Google wasn't meaningful at all. Monopoly got away with monopolizing. Money wins again.
ebr....We miss Lisa Khan!
jlcg...As a matter of fact, breaking them up will be bad for quality of service, but their natural evolution toward de facto monopolies should be recognized and lead to declare them utilities and regulate them as such. The flight is that they are also international by nature, and therefore the regulatory body should be an international agency!

Is prioritizing capital, liquidity, and safety over ESG and social factors a more effective approach to bank regulation?

  • 70% Yes, financial stability should be the focus
  • 25% No, ESG and social risks are equally important
  • 5% Not sure

EmailComments
bjef...This is a joke, right? Decreasing regulation over the institutions that gave us the derivative crash is crazy. Without knowing exactly what ESG and social risks the banks will mess up, hard to answer. For example, if the effort is to promote a cleaner environment, in the long run we save money through less health care issues, things look better, more tourism-that banks make less unearned money. I don't see a downside.
dbb9...Esg is BS
ebr....We don't need another crash like 2008.
atli...Consumers screwed again, while the oligarchy is laughing all the way to the bank.
patc...Financial stability should be the priority but the larger issues is the reduction of staff and exams. A secondary issue is the vacuum created by the reduction of CRA investments that support communities across the country.

Which approach do you believe is more vital to combating chronic kidney failure?

  • 64% Both equally important
  • 33% Developing early diagnostic tools (like biomarkers)
  • 3% Improving existing treatment and management strategies

amia...Great research. We need to shift the bulk of the $1 trillion department of war budget to university research and make America great for the first time in history.
ttim...Any advanced procedure that can identify potential dame is welcomed.
bjef...As a physician, this is a no brainer. However, not to worry, it's a moot question. With RFK, JR in charge and Trump cutting all research to save money for the wealthy, we're losing our researchers to overseas and all programs in the US are jeopardized.
kvas...Go science!

If proven safe and effective, would you consider using a fat-blocking microbead supplement as part of your weight management strategy?

  • 81% Yes, as a safer alternative to surgery or drugs
  • 19% No, I prefer traditional diet and exercise methods

EmailComments
atli...Food and nutrition are key.
