US Pledges More Aid for Ukraine
President Trump reversed a pause on U.S. weapons shipments to Ukraine, pledging to resume sending primarily defensive arms amid intensified Russian attacks.
The Pentagon had halted deliveries of systems like Patriot missiles due to depleted stockpiles. Since Russia’s 2022 invasion, the U.S. has provided $66.9 billion in military aid.
Russia launched over 1,200 drones, 39 missiles, and nearly 1,000 glide bombs in one week, causing dozens of civilian casualties. Ukraine plans to produce “hundreds of thousands” of drones this year through new deals.
The Pentagon is reviewing frozen aid, with military leaders preparing recommendations.

Trump’s 25% Tariffs
President Trump announced 25% tariffs on imports from Japan and South Korea starting August 1, 2025, targeting $69.4 billion and $66 billion trade deficits, respectively.
Tariffs ranging from 25% to 40% will also hit 12 other countries, including 40% on Myanmar and Laos and 35% on Bangladesh and Serbia. Auto imports face a separate 25% tariff; steel and aluminum imports face 50%.
Trump delayed the deadline from July 9 to August 1 to allow negotiations. So far, only trade deals with the UK and Vietnam are finalized. The announcement caused a 0.8% S&P 500 drop and higher Treasury yields.
Several nations expressed concern, fearing economic harm and retaliatory measures.

No Epstein “Client List”
The DOJ and FBI completed a review of Jeffrey Epstein’s case, finding no “client list” or evidence Epstein blackmailed others. Epstein’s 2019 death was confirmed as suicide via video evidence.
Over 1,000 victims were identified, and tens of thousands of sensitive images remain sealed to protect victims. No new charges against third parties will be pursued. FBI leaders who previously promoted conspiracy theories now confirm no cover-up occurred.
Despite political pressure and public speculation, the investigation found no basis for further probes or releasing additional files. The DOJ emphasized focusing on child exploitation cases and discouraged spreading unfounded theories that harm victims and public trust.

China’s Rare Earth Ultimatum
China pressures Myanmar’s Kachin Independence Army (KIA) to halt its offensive on Bhamo, a key heavy rare earth mining region supplying nearly half of the world’s demand.
Since December 2024, fighting between the KIA and Myanmar’s military junta has cut mining and exports, with China’s imports from Myanmar halving in early 2025. The KIA controls main mines, restricts rare earth production, and raises taxes, pushing prices higher.
The junta’s airstrikes aim to retain control of trade routes. China, backing the junta militarily, also urges the KIA to stop fighting to protect its supply chain. The conflict risks a global shortage of crucial minerals for green energy by year-end.

Secret Toxins in 90% of Toddlers
A study of 201 U.S. toddlers aged 2 to 4 found 96 chemicals in their urine, including plastics, pesticides, flame retardants, and personal care product compounds. Among 111 tested, 34 were in over 90% of children; nine are not tracked nationally.
Toddlers had higher levels of phthalates, bisphenol S, and pesticide markers than their mothers during pregnancy. Chemical levels were higher in younger toddlers, minorities, and later-born children.
From 2010 to 2021, triclosan, parabens, PAHs, and many phthalates declined, while plasticizer DINCH and newer pesticides rose. Exposure occurs daily via food, air, skin, and dust, with risks to hormonal, brain, and immune development.

Drug Blocks Tumor Growth Without Dangerous Side Effects
BBO-10203 is a new AI designed cancer drug that blocks the RAS-PI3Kα pathway to inhibit tumor growth without causing high blood sugar. It disrupts RAS and PI3Kα protein interaction while sparing insulin regulation, avoiding hyperglycemia common in similar drugs.
Lab and animal tests show effectiveness against breast, lung, and colorectal cancers with HER2 overexpression, PIK3CA, and KRAS mutations. Developed using AI and DOE supercomputers, the drug targets a previously “undruggable” protein interface.
Now in Phase 1 trials, BBO-10203 enhances existing therapies and offers a potentially safer, precise treatment for aggressive tumors.
